One of tagaytay highlands’ culinary franchise is the China Palace Restaurant in Mall of Asia in Pasay City, located at the south wing of the mall, It is opposite to the location of the highlands steakhouse.
The Place:
The arrangement is reminiscent of a typical Chinese restaurant. Hues of red are all over, efficiently enticing diners to eat more and savor the adventure of this perplex cuisine. The tables look authentic, Chinese decors, that might remind you of hong kong style restaurant. Beautiful Szechuan decors light the whole indoor area. However, the dining area is not limited indoors. It is extended into the balcony of the mall, which is complemented by the unparalled beauty of the coastal waters that is best viewed during sunsets.
The Food:
This is what the Chinese are known for, different regions, different flavors. Unfortunately for me, since we were late to arrive, I haven’t got the chance to take a glimpse of the menu. And unfortunately enough, my dad ordered the same chinese dishes we ordered in every restaurant:
- Pancit Canton – tastes yummy, a bit bland, but the chewy noodles were excellent. Another good thing is, the vegetables aren’t over cooked and the bright colors are preserved.
- Crab and corn soup – real crab meat is the real deal in this classic home-made soup.
- Yang Chow fried rice – This is so good, it can be eaten without any viands! the barbecued pork gives this dish an exciting turn, excellently complimented vegetables, again, they are not overcooked. On the downturn, it has a small serving, which made us craving for more.
- Pepperred Spareribs – bland looking but still tasted good.
I know, the choices are kinda lame, but I was not the one who ordered this set.
On the other hand, the dishes tasted as expected, we expected good quality in terms of service and food taste. Because the restaurant is not clearly for the faint-hearted. (in terms of wallet capabilities, that is.)
I could have ordered the real delicacies of the chinese cuisine, our table could have been filled with the treasures of china that was once only reserved for the royalties of the dynasty, but heck, we may end up doing the dishes if we really did that.
recommend!

Another moral, wag mo rin ilagay sa kamay ng iyong tatay at tito ang mga menu.
