The Unwritten Laws of Office Lunch Outs.

Lunch outs are the next best thing since free food in meetings. You get to eat stuff not from the usual pantry or the packed leftover breakfast/dinner. And it has a evil twin sister more commonly known as the dinner out which evolves into an inuman session. hehe. Anyway, Office Lunch outs are participated by who else, the officemates. It is usually consists of 3 or more people and is usually done in moderately pricey to high end food places. On the other hand, planning your lunch out can make or break your day. If you’re thinking of planning a lunch out for a big group, one must take note of the following:

1. Big groups can be tricky. you should REMEMBER at all times that, you are not required to please everybody.

2. always take the hint for the first one to post or raise a concern, that this person isn’t really that interested. this officemate is now subjected to the ‘iffy’ department.

3. if excuses such as: way too too pricey (without suggesting an alternative), and has plans, cross them out. again, lack of interest, and if this officemate really wants to have this lunch out, compromise. It would be unfair to the others if this lunch out will be rescheduled just for the sake of this one VIP.

4. when choosing the restaurant, pick something that is usually eaten. in other words, any place that has ‘sizzling pork sisig’ on it will do.

5. the more you push things to get this lunch out done in which everybody would be present, the more things would be pretty fictional. fictional in a sense, NOT FEASIBLE. why? because the best lunch outs are supposedly unplanned.

to sum it all up, office lunch outs shouldn’t be big. kung nabibilang mo sa daliri mo ang kasama sa lunch out, ok na yun. sa kasal/binyag lang uso ang maramihan kainan. the sure fire way to bring everyone together in one place? go to the pantry and order a pizza.

    true dat! true dat!

especially #5, ganun sa amin. pag planado, di kami nakukumpleto. we usually get to have lunch out when we didn’t plan for one, and we just happen to be complete.
