Oh brother. I really don’t know where to start on this one. Laiya on the most part is known for the serene beaches and ultimate getaway. But a vacation without great food isn’t really my idea of a vacation There were so many resorts on this great sunny stretch. on the upside, all of them were on competitive prices, fairly good reviews and nice accomodations.
But what am I after anyway? I’ve always loved food and the idea of putting it in my mouth and experiencing the joy of eating.
behold. a sample breakfast.
I really couldn’t believe on how such a small team of humble resort caretakers could whip up such culinary delights. Even when we endured a hellish 5-hour commute from Manila to San Juan, Batangas, this type of meal will surely drown all the tiredness and stress away.
There were no gourmet meals nor special treatments, but they sure do know how to spice up simple home-cooked meals.
Imagine.
- on a lumpiang shanghai sawsawan, would anybody have an idea to include fresh salsa?
- on a ordinary pan fried tilapia, would somebody care to add toasted garlic?
- would anybody dare to try include batangas lomi, grilled tuna, grilled porkloins , and chopseuy on just one sitting?
ah. naalala ko ulit. gusto ko nang bumalik ulit. alam kong miss mo na kami laiya. kasi miss na miss ka na namin.
